More About
Nature-Based Therapy
Nature-based therapy (also known as eco-therapy) is rooted in the belief that when we slow down, move away from the daily overwhelm, and allow our minds and bodies to reconnect with nature, we are able to better let go of stress and anxiety-driven thoughts, and instead, clear our minds and focus on presence and connection with ourselves and the world around us.
Intentional time spent in nature is scientifically proven to:
Reduce stress
Improve cognitive abilities
Lower anxiety
Improve blood pressure
Lower heart rate
Increase confidence and self-esteem
Improve feelings of loneliness
Improve mood

“Britney has helped me realize the control I have over my life…
…and I have felt such significant changes in my life from the short time we have spent together.
I have gotten much closer to where I want to be in my relationships, work, and health.”
~ MLC ~
Growing up, my father shared with me the secret ingredient to living a full, happy, and confident life: compassion.
He taught me that our fellow humans, animals, and even our environment were all deserving of our kindness and respect, and that it was our job as individuals to take a compassionate approach in all that we do.
His positive view of others, including marginalized and judged populations, was a major influence in my life from early on; although he is now living with advanced Parkinsons and unable to do everything he used to physically, his mind is just as sharp and his heart just as compassionate as it was all those years before.
Thanks to my father’s influence and my natural love of nature, Compassionate Roots was born.
